It was great to see so many Husky families at our Books on Blankets event last night! Our new principal, Dr. Dwyer, read 3 books then everyone enjoyed popsicles and time on the playground. We can't wait for the new school year to start!

Elementary students will have slightly adjusted school hours starting with the 2025/26 school year. The elementary school day will begin at 8:10 AM and end at 3:00 PM. Supervised drop off begins at 7:50 am; students should be in their classroom when the bell rings at 8:10 am. Dismissal is promptly at 3:00 pm. If needed, before and after care is available through Riverside Parks and Recreation.
This change allows us more instructional time for reading, writing, and physical education throughout the week, while also improving lunch, recess, and transition times. The updated elementary lunch hour is 11:20 AM–12:20 PM.
Building principals will send a more detailed welcome email the first week of August. Early Learner and Hauser schedules remain the same.

Dear District 96 Families,
School is open tomorrow, Feb. 12, 2025. I am sending this message due to the current weather forecast and the fact that a number of school districts are opting for an E Learning day tomorrow. We are not. We will be open for school as usual. Our after school clubs and activities are canceled. According to recent weather forecasts, snow may increase over the course of the day. We understand that the conditions will support safe travel to and from school tomorrow. Please know that the safety and well being of our students, our families and our staff members are always our top priority. While weather conditions can be unpredictable we believe that our work with the local villages, department of public works and up to date weather forecasting allow for a meaningful day of student learning tomorrow. Dress warmly, travel safely and we look forward to seeing you in school.
Sincerely Yours,
Martha Ryan-Toye
Superintendent

Beth was in the Nutcracker, and she was a toy soldier and an angel. Beth was very amazing. Beth is very artistic, which is good, because Ms. V is very nice and art class is very long. Beth's nickname is . . . . . BETH THE AWESOME. The end.
