Hollywood's kindergarteners had a blast carving pumpkins, counting seeds, and dressing up!




November's Town Hall was led by Hollywood's amazing 3rd graders. Dr. Dwyer talked about managing emotions. The 3rd grade students led the school in a fun activity to the song "Joe at the Button Factory." What a fantastic way to kick off the month!






Hollywood 5th graders are learning about ecosystems and decomposers. Last week, they created worm terraria in order to see decomposers in action! 🪱









The Halloween fun continues at Hollywood School! We had a great musical assembly, followed by a neighborhood parade!

Today, Hollywood 5th graders performed the book Bedtime in the Swamp for the kindergarteners. Mr. Howes narrated the story, and the 5th graders provided musical accompaniment!





Last week, our kindergarteners had a special surprise in the library! The parent volunteer came with not just a book, but costumes and props as well!





Mr. Murray's 2nd graders worked together to explore the properties of paper. They experimented to test its strength and durability. Great work!

🚧 The Cowley Road railroad crossing will be closed starting October 14 for approximately 3 weeks. 🚗 Detour signs will direct traffic to the Delaplaine Road crossing. 🚲 Pedestrians, students, and cyclists are encouraged to cross at Longcommon Road.

🍎🍏 It was Apple Day in Ms. Kwas' class last week. The kindergarteners tasted different types of apples and made homemade applesauce. Yum! 🍎🍏

It was rainy this afternoon, but that didn't stop the fun! Our Huskies kept busy during today's indoor recess.💧🎲🖌️






Last week, Mr. Murray's class worked together to explore properties of matter. In the "Mad Hatter" activity, students explored the different properties of materials used for clothing, such as texture, flexibility, and absorbency. They will use their learning to design and build a hat that protects them from the sun! 👒🧢🎩










Today's Town Hall was led by Ms. Koch's class! The 4th graders planned a bunch of fun activities promoting having a growth mindset. What a fun way to start the week!






🥥 🌴 It was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Day today in Ms. Kwas' kindergarten class! The kids had a great time learning about letters and rhyming with Ms. Kwas as their very own coconut tree! 🥥 🌴

In addition to their science fun, these learners are also sharpening their reading comprehension skills by working together and supporting one another. 📚✨
